I was over the moon when Sam phoned to tell me that they’d chosen Clyde Park as the setting for the big day! There are a great deal of venues out there that I love, but there’s something special about Clyde Park. I’m not sure if it’s the rolling hills that form the backdrop for ceremonies, or if it’s the cute little locations around the property that make for some amazing images, or perhaps it’s the fact that what really is only a shed housing barrels can look a million dollars when prettied up a bit! It’s fabulous! Oh, and Sam just happens to be my cousin, who is also just like a sister to me. So, that’s what made this wedding so extra, extra special.
Sam became a bit of an Etsy addict, frequently buying little bits and pieces to build on their rustic theme. From burlap table runners, gorgeous little Photo Booth props and about a million jars and bottles, she had the whole family rescuing little treasures to adorn the tables at the reception. It certainly came in handy that Scott and I were having our falling down fence replaced, so Sam was able to use the fence palings on the tables too.
The very personal ceremony was held overlooking the glorious views of Clyde Park vineyard, and was conducted by Celebrant, Annie Mac, who came all the way from Melbourne just to marry these two!
The reception followed shortly after in the barrel room, where the shed was transformed into a gorgeous sight. Tables were decorated with old fence palings, burlap runners, jars and bottles of summery flowers and of course candles. True to the theme, guest’s place settings were identified with old wine corks!
Once again, Clyde Park proved to be a gorgeous venue to photograph a wedding. From the green grape vines, the gum trees, and of course the tiny yellow flowers scattered throughout the grass, all working perfectly with Sam and Jono’s chosen colour scheme of navy blue and bright yellow.
It was a fabulous night, with all of the guests (myself included!) travelling back to our accommodation for the weekend in coaches, where a little after-party was held. Such a wonderful fun-filled day and night!
Very early the following morning, we dragged ourselves out of bed (arrgh!) and headed down to Eastern Beach on the Geelong Waterfront. Sam was dressed in her wedding gown, Jono in his pants and shirt, the two of them headed into the water for a bit of fun!
I’m sure you will see why I am so excited to share some images from Sam and Jono’s vineyard wedding, and of course their “morning after” shoot.
